The Hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca is a lifetime pursuit of Muslims. This year, more than 13,000 Chinese Muslims have arrived in Saudi Arabia for the most memorable moment of their life.
Coming from all over China, the Xinjiang delegation is the biggest, comprising more than 3,000 members. The trip to Mecca has been organised by the China Islam Association. Medical workers have been travelling with the Chinese Muslims to provide free medical services. Meanwhile, Islamic scholars are on hand to guide the Chinese Muslims in conducting all the rituals in strict accordance with the doctrines. The Consulate General in Mecca has also been busy making sure the pilgrims' journey goes smoothly.

An Embassy official said, "The Consulate General attaches great imortance to this year's Hajj pilgrimage. The first task is to arrange all the chartered flights from China and facilitate their entrance procedures at the airport. We have also arranged meetings between organizers of the Chinese delegation with Saudi authorities to discuss technical details of this year's pilgrimage plan. We are ready to provide whatever convenience necessary to make their stay in Mecca a smooth one."
